Nagaland: Elite Cricket Club wins 3rd KDCA Inter-Club T20 title

DIMAPUR, Dec 11 (NPN)

The 3rd Kohima Inter-Club T20 Cricket Tournament 2025 concluded on Thursday at Sovima Cricket Ground with defending champions Elite Cricket Club lifting the trophy for the third consecutive time by defeating the Brotherhood Team.
In the grand finale, Brotherhood Team won the toss and opted to bat first, posting a total of 106/5 in 20 overs. Viketho anchored the innings with a steady 38 runs, while Chumben added 25. For Elite Cricket Club, Sepichem bowled an effective spell, claiming 2 wickets in 4 overs.
Chasing 107, Elite Cricket Club displayed composure and reached 110/4 in 18.4 overs. Imomemba, continuing his fine form, top-scored with 49 runs, supported by Zidu’s 22. Brotherhood’s Aleto picked up 2 wickets, but the defending champions sealed a comfortable six-wicket victory.
With this win, Elite Cricket Club was crowned champions of the KDCA Inter-Club Tournament for the third successive edition. Imomemba was named Man of the Match for his match-winning performance.
The Kohima District Cricket Association organized the four-day tournament from December 8 to 11 at the NCA Grounds, Sovima. A total of eight teams participated, including Elite Cricket Club and last year’s runners-up Kohima Hornbills.
The teams were divided into two groups of four, with league matches determining the finalists.
Brotherhood Team topped Group A, while Elite Cricket Club led Group B, setting up the title clash.
Across 13 matches played on two grounds, 112 players showcased their talent, making the tournament a vibrant display of cricketing spirit in the district.
In the individual awards, Player of the final match was bagged by Imomemba (Elite Cricket Club); Best Wicketkeeper by Imlisunep Jamir (T. Khel Knights); Best Batsman by Imomemba (Elite Cricket Club); Best Bowler by Mhajan (Tribal Legends); Player of the Tournament by Imomemba (Elite Cricket Club).
