The revamped “Nagaland Emporium” in New Delhi was officially inaugurated on September 6 by Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar. The event was graced by the presence of advisor to the chief minister and chairman of the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland, Abu Metha and advisor Industries & Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu.
According to a DIPR report, addressing at the programme, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar expressed optimism about Nagaland’s economic prospects, citing its rich tradition of micro-entrepreneurship in arts and handicrafts. He emphasized on the importance of the Nagaland Emporium as a showcase of Nagaland’s talent and capabilities on a global stage, remarking that the government, under prime minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, is committed to assist micro-entrepreneurs from every district in Nagaland to access broader markets.
In his speech, Abu Metha underlined the significance of the Nagaland Emporium as an ambassador of Nagaland and its people.
He maintained that the newly renovated space embodies the Naga way of life and aims to pique the interest of visitors to learn more about Nagaland and its vibrant culture. He also noted that this endeavour aligns with the chief minister’s vision to elevate Nagaland to a state of excellence, with a focus on benefiting the grassroots creators, manufacturers, and artisans.
Delivering welcome address, advisor Hekani Jakhalu expressed gratitude for the contributions of Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar in Nagaland’s development journey.
The programme was chaired by commissioner & secretary of Industries and Commerce, Kekhrievor Kevichusa, invocation was offered by pastor of NCF Delhi, Rev. Dr. N. Ricky Medom, and vote of thanks was proposed by chairman of NHHDC, Prasielie Pienyü.
