The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has reminded the State government to give its comments on the highlights of the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) draft concerning the ‘Frontier Nagaland Territory’ (FNT) to facilitate upcoming tripartite talks.
In a statement issued through its media cell, ENPO expressed confidence in the leadership of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly under chief minister Neiphiu Rio, that the concerns and sentiments of the people of Eastern Nagaland will be respected and addressed without delay.
During a meeting of ENPO executive with the chief minister on August 23 last, ENPO said it has submitted a letter requesting the state government to give its comments on the highlights of the MOS drat on FNT.
Following this, ENPO issued a reminder on September 14, 2024, urging the government to take the matter seriously and uphold the spirit of collective responsibility as outlined in Article 164 (2) of the Constitution of India, while giving its comments of the MOS draft and to understand the position of the ENPO.
While appreciating well-wishers for expressing their support on the FNT issue, ENPO executive during its meeting held on September 17, 2024, unanimously resolved that any media house, scholar, writer, YouTubers, individual or group wishing to publish or broadcast on ENPO FNT matters must first obtain approval from the ENPO Office.
