Nagaland: ESH holds thanksgiving for FNTA accord

DIMAPUR

Eastern Sumi Hoho (ESH) organised a special thanksgiving programme at Phisami Village, Kiphire, on February 13, 2026 to celebrate the signing of the historic Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) agreement with the Government of India on February 5, 2026.
According to ESH, the landmark accord is seen as a turning point promising unprecedented progress and development for Eastern Nagaland.
Delivering the president’s speech, K. Tokishe Sema, president of Eastern Sumi Hoho, expressed gratitude to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Ministry of Home Affairs for granting the FNTA to the people of Eastern Nagaland. He also extended gratitude to S. Phangnon Konyak, Rajya Sabha MP from Nagaland, and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, along with the Government of Nagaland, for their efforts and positive support in making the agreement possible.
Tokishe further acknowledged the role of the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) team and all supporters whose unwavering backing made the achievement possible.
The programme also featured addresses by leaders of the Eastern Sumi Kukami Hoho, Eastern Nagaland Sumi Officer Union, Eastern Nagaland Sumi Students’ Union, Eastern Sumi Totomi Hoho, and Eastern Sumi Youth Front. Each speaker expressed gratitude to the Eastern Sumi Hoho, the ENPO team, the study and recommendations committee, and all individuals who contributed to the long struggle.
A thanksgiving prayer was offered by pastor Viketo Chishi, who invoked God’s blessing and guidance in leading the Eastern people to this desired goal.
