Nagaland: FDP on teaching, AI & cyber security

DIMAPUR

St. Joseph University (SJU), Chümoukedima, through its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) from January 15 to 17, 2026 at the university auditorium, focusing on teaching & learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and cyber security.
The programme began with a session on Teaching & Learning by Dr. T. Soundara Pandian, Associate Professor, Modern Institute of Teacher Education, Kohima. He emphasized learner-centric pedagogy, constructive teacher-student relationships, and innovative instructional design using the ADDIE framework, encouraging faculty to adopt dynamic approaches for meaningful learning.
On the second day, Dr. Arambam Neelima, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NIT Nagaland, delivered a lecture on Artificial Intelligence. She introduced AI tools for teaching and research, including generative AI and learning analytics, while highlighting ethical considerations and reaffirming the indispensable role of educators.
The final day featured a session on Cyber Security by Asabo Newmai from the IC Cyber Cell, Office of the Commissioner of Police, Nagaland. He raised awareness on cyber threats such as data breaches and phishing attacks, stressing preventive measures and best practices to safeguard digital infrastructure in educational institutions.
