“Fed-Up Nagas”, a collective movement of concerned Naga youths, has announced the launch of a peaceful and democratic initiative urging the Government of India to implement the agreements already signed with the Nagas– Framework Agreement on August 3, 2015 with NSCN (I-M) and Agreed Position on November 17, 2017 with WC/NNPGs.
In a statement, the group said the movement stemmed from a shared conviction that the only sustainable way to address prevailing social challenges within Naga society was to bring a just and honourable conclusion to the long-standing Naga political issue, which it claimed stood concluded in principle.
Appealing to the Government of India to act with sincerity and responsibility, the youth collective urged the Centre to refrain from what it termed divisive approaches that could foster misunderstanding and discord among the Nagas.
It maintained that continued delay in resolving the issue would weaken collective strength and accelerate disintegration “as a family, as a people, and as a nation.”
The group stated that “Fed-Up Nagas” functioned as a collective movement guided by a core group of like-minded youths without hierarchy, titles or official positions. It said any concerned Naga youth could be part of the core and contribute meaningfully to the movement. The initiative, it added, was youth-driven and not affiliated with any tribe, organisation or political group, with participants joining as individuals united by shared concern and responsibility.
In view of the ongoing HSLC and HSSLC examinations, the group informed that awareness and mobilisation campaigns would continue in a responsible and considerate manner until the examinations conclude.
It stated that a mass youth rally would be organised immediately thereafter, and memorandums and representations would be submitted to the relevant authorities as part of peaceful and democratic demands for a timely and honourable resolution.
The collective also sought prayer support from churches and the general Naga public for the success of the youth movement.
It expressed hope for divine guidance, wisdom and unity in the pursuit of permanent peace and a just resolution to the long-pending Naga issue, adding that collective spiritual and moral support was essential for reconciliation and lasting harmony.
Reiterating its commitment to non-violence, unity and constructive engagement, the group called for solidarity from all sections of society who believe in truth, justice and the collective future of the Naga people.
