FGN issues clarification on leadership

DIMAPUR

Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has issued an official clarification to the public regarding its leadership and membership, following its earlier statement dated February 28 on the impeachment of former president Thinoselie.
In a release, FGN reiterated that Thinoselie is no longer an active member nor associated in any capacity with the organisation. It cautioned that all business associations, organisations and individuals are strictly advised not to engage in any dealings under his name in connection with FGN, noting that any such engagement would be at their own risk and responsibility.
The statement further clarified that H.K. Zeliang is not an active member of the present or past FGN, describing him as a “self-styled individual” who has not been officially appointed or authorised by the Government. It said any statements made by him regarding the leadership or structure of FGN do not represent the official position of the organisation.
FGN informed that the Government is presently functioning smoothly under the leadership of newly elected president Sukhai Awomi, through a system of collective leadership and cooperation.
