Nagaland: Fire damages two houses at Industrial Estate Colony, Dimapur

A fire broke out on the morning of January 29 at Industrial Estate Colony, Dimapur, completely destroying a kachaa house and spreading to a neighbouring Assam-type house, which suffered partial damage. A car parked nearby was also slightly burnt, affecting two families.
According to fire officials, the emergency call was received at 11:02 AM, and two fire tenders from the West Fire Station were immediately dispatched. The blaze, reportedly caused during the drying of meat, was brought under control within eleven minutes. No casualties were reported.
The fire resulted in property losses estimated at around 2 lakh for the fully gutted kachaa house, while damages to the Assam-type house were valued at approximately50,000.
Sources said personnel from the Assam Rifles, along with local residents, assisted firefighters in controlling the flames.
