A fire incident in Seluophe Village on Tuesday evening completely destroyed a kaccha house comprising five rooms and a kitchen, affecting one family. The blaze, which broke out around 6:10 p.m., was brought under control within 34 minutes. No casualties were reported.
According to fire officials, two fire tenders from Central Fire Station Dimapur and two from Chümoukedima Fire Station were pressed into service to douse the flames. Preliminary investigation indicated that the fire was triggered by a short circuit.
At the time of filing this report, the extent of property damage was yet to be ascertained.
