The Football for Schools (F4S) programme was successfully conducted at PM SHRI School, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Kohima, on February 13, with the objective of promoting grassroots football and integrating sports into the educational framework.
A key highlight of the event was the distribution of footballs to 20 schools from Kohima district. The footballs were handed over by the chief guest, president of the Nagaland Football Association and Executive Committee Member of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), Neibu Sekhose. In his address, Sekhose encouraged students to actively participate in sports, emphasizing its importance in fostering discipline, teamwork, and overall personality development. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address delivered by principal Mahesh Prasad Shivhare. The event was graced by president of the District Football Association Kohima, M. Matthew Yhome, who attended as the guest of honour.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by a symbolic kick-off ceremony and impressive football skill demonstrations performed by students, marking a spirited celebration of sportsmanship and youth engagement.
