Advisor of Land Resources, G. Ikuto Zhimomi, inaugurated the newly constructed General Administration (GA) Rest House at Aghunato on January 9.
In his address, Zhimomi underscored the importance of treating government property as public assets, reminding citizens that such facilities belong to the people and must be used wisely and responsibly. He formally handed over both rest house buildings to the administration, noting that all rules must align with government guidelines. “The public and tourists should strictly follow these rules when using the GA Rest House and other public properties at ADC Headquarters, Aghunato,” he said.
Looking ahead, the advisor highlighted that Aghunato town will celebrate its 75th Platinum Jubilee in 2027. He urged the administration to take the lead as head and chairman of the celebrations, calling for collective support from the public and organisations to ensure a grand commemoration.
Prior to the rest house inauguration, Zhimomi also commissioned a new ambulance at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Aghunato, acknowledging the Medical Department of Nagaland for providing the vehicle. He expressed gratitude to chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for his continued assistance and support. The programme was attended by government officials, medical staff, GBs, elders and public leaders.
