Nagaland gears up for I-Day celebration

DIMAPUR: Home Commissioner, Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha, chaired a coordination meeting at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima, on Tuesday to discuss work distribution and programme preparations for the State level celebration of the 80th Independence Day.
According to DIPR report, the meeting was attended by representatives of concerned departments and officials responsible for various aspects of the celebration. Key arrangements reviewed included parade management, ceremonial functions, cultural programmes, logistics and other operational components.
Chairing the meeting, Sinha said the coordination exercise is convened annually well in advance to ensure that all participating departments and agencies are fully aware of their roles and responsibilities. He noted that Nagaland has consistently followed a uniform programme template, observed simultaneously across all districts.
Emphasising the importance of meticulous planning and seamless coordination, the Home Commissioner stated that necessary instructions would be issued to all departments and Deputy Commissioners to initiate preparations and ensure a befitting celebration of the 80th Independence Day.
Appreciating the commendable efforts of departments in past celebrations, Sinha urged all line departments to maintain the same spirit of coordination, commitment and professionalism to make this year’s milestone celebration a grand success.
