Cadets of 1 Nagaland Girls Battalion NCC, Kohima under various colleges and schools carried out the nationwide campaign “Puneet Sagar Abhiyan” to keep water bodies free from wastes across the country.
In a press release, PRO, Defence Kohima, Lt Col Amit Shukla stated that the cadets participated in cleaning up waste materials along the riverbanks.
They also created awareness on the campaign through rallies, interaction with shopkeepers and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) involved in waste management and recycling, street act play, plog run, poster making and essay writing.
PRO said the campaign is aimed at raising awareness among the public on the importance of a clean environment and waste management.
