Global Shapers Kohima Hub, an initiative of the Global Shapers Community hosted by the World Economic Forum, conducted a workshop on Financial Empowerment at Rüsoma Village, Kohima, on January 17 as part of its first phase of Digital and Financial Literacy Campaign.
Paweü Kayina, CEO and founder of Moneybar, served as the resource person for the session, which was moderated by Dr. Kivi Swu (PT). A brief introduction to the Kohima Hub was delivered by its curator, Thungchibemo N. Ezung.
Addressing the participants, Kayina emphasized the importance of money management through proper budgeting and investment. She highlighted saving as a vital step towards achieving financial freedom and cautioned youth against digital scams, encouraging vigilance and informed financial behaviour.
Project Lead and Impact Officer of Kohima Hub, Muzivoto Kotso, encouraged village youth organisations to connect with the Kohima Hub for similar sessions in their communities.
The workshop was attended by youth from Rüsoma Village and concluded on a positive note with expressions of gratitude and a collective reaffirmation to adopt smarter financial practices.
