Nagaland: Gov, CM extend Sökrönye greetings

DIMAPUR, JAN 14 (NPN)

Nagaland governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and chief minister Neiphiu Rio have extended greetings to the members of the Chakhesang community on the auspicious occasion of the Sökrönye Festival.
In his message, governor Bhalla said Sökrönye, a sacred festival of purification and renewal, signified a time of spiritual cleansing, reconciliation and preparation for the new agricultural season. As customary rites were observed and community bonds renewed, governor expressed hope that this festival inspire harmony and collective progress. In a social media post, chief minister Neiphiu Rio said Sökrönye, a festival of sanctification that invokes good health, marked the traditional rite of passage into adulthood. “Wishing the community good health, unity, and a year filled with peace and hope,” Rio stated.
