Nagaland governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and political parties have extended warm Christmas and New Year greetings to the people of the state.
In his message, the governor said Christmas, commemorating the birth of Lord Jesus Christ, holds special significance in Nagaland. He said Christmas reminds the people of enduring values like love, compassion, humility, forgiveness, and service to humanity—values that have long guided the people of Nagaland in fostering harmony, resilience, and mutual respect.
Also, the governor said that stepping into the New Year was an opportune moment to reflect on collective journey and renew commitment to peace, unity and inclusive development.
“Let us continue working together to strengthen social cohesion, uphold our rich cultural heritage, and contribute meaningfully to Nagaland’s progress and prosperity,” Bhalla said.
The governor prayed that the coming year brings peace to the land, prosperity to the people, and good health and happiness to every household.
“May the spirit of Christmas fill our hearts with hope and goodwill, and the New Year usher in new opportunities and renewed optimism for all,” Bhalla added.
NJCF: Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) also extended warm Christmas greetings to all churches and believers across the state as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
In a message, NJCF general secretary Rev. Moses Murry said the sacred season reminds of God’s greatest gift of love and redemption. The forum called upon the believers to rejoice in the hope, peace, and joy that Christ brings. “As we step into the New Year 2026, may God’s grace guide us, His love unite us, and His blessings overflow in our lives and communities,” NJCF stated.
Further, the forum also urged the believers to walk together in faith, serving with compassion and spreading the light of Christ.
NJCF wished all a blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year filled with God’s abundant blessings.
NPF: Naga People’s Front (NPF), in a message issued by its Press Bureau, conveyed Christmas greetings to all. The party called upon the people to thank God for the gift of life and embrace the love and peace found in Jesus Christ. It urged citizens to reflect on the values of love, kindness and forgiveness, and to live the Christmas spirit by spreading joy and harmony.
NPP: National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland State, also extended warm greetings to citizens, party workers and well-wishers. In a message issued by K. James Vizo, vice president and chief spokesperson, the Party reminded that Christmas signifies God’s love and the message of peace, humility and hope brought through Jesus Christ. It urged the people of Nagaland to strengthen bonds of harmony and work together for a just, peaceful and compassionate society, while reaffirming its commitment to ethical leadership and the welfare of all sections of society.
NPF Minority Wing: Minority Wing of NPF, led by President Bishnu Bhattacharjee, extended festive wishes on behalf of the minority community. The message highlighted Christmas as a symbol of God’s love, peace and hope for humanity. General Secretary Roshan Bishwakarma prayed for a New Year filled with harmony, unity, good health and prosperity, and encouraged all communities to uphold faith, compassion and mutual respect for peaceful coexistence.
NNC/FGN: Naga National Council/Federal Government of Nagaland (NNC/FGN), through Brigadier (Retd.) S. Singnya, Kedhage, and P. Puthai Lam, Kedallo, extended greetings to the Naga people and well-wishers. The message described Christmas as a time for humility, forgiveness and reflection, and expressed hope for unity and healing in the New Year. The NNC/FGN reaffirmed its commitment to the dignity and well-being of the Naga people, praying for wisdom for leaders and peace across the land.
