Law and Order in Nagaland is getting murkier day by day and the attribution solely due to government’s in-action. The legitimate Government of Nagaland shows up after worst thing happens rather than prevent from happening. And during Legislative Elections, ‘Solution’ becomes part and partial of their manifestos only to hide their misdeeds.
Crimes, extortions and abuses by so called Nation Workers have become order of the day and while most are overlooked some cannot be condoned. Each year has its chapter of crimes and this year too come with no excuse for surprises.
The recent kidnapping and torture of a businessman by one of the factions reveals their ugly intent. The victim was not just a mere public, but Head GB of a village. His responsibility highly respected by all and looked up to during quandary. Such brazen crime from a gun-toting faction spreads fear psychosis especially among public without status. What are we a mere public, if Head GB can be subjected to such inhumane torture? Where do these factions inherit such supreme authority from. We are not under dictator, nor under Communist government? We have democratically elected government with Legislative, Executive and Judiciary in functions! Ironically, these people openly summon extortion slap on any individuals under the guise of ‘legitimate tax for the government’ without fear of the law. What government and what legitimate tax are these people up to? It is time for the Naga People to question them the outcome of all those donations and support rendered for many decades.
The main root of all these evils inspire from ‘Solution’ Phrase of Political Parties during election. Everybody knows ‘Solution’ or ‘Sovereignty’ isn’t happening at all cost, never with so many factions in play and the Nagaland Government knows better. In pursuit to cheer some few classy individuals/groups, Nagaland Government is gambling with the life and safety of the masses. The corruption in Nagaland is so extreme that Political Parties has no agenda than promising ‘Utopian World’.
With the ‘Solution, Solution, Solution ‘ Chorus, Nagaland Government is working hand in glove with the outlawed to the extremity that the general public can bear no more. Open extortions and Taxations have come to its saturation point and the devine cause for which has come under stalemate.
Evidently, except for few alive, most joining factions post ceasefire are only to secure their financial position at any cost. In Nagaland businesses are vanishing, Development hampering and investments unlikely only due to multiple extortions and threat to lives. It is also evident that most so called Nation Workers will avoid going back to jungles (how the revolution started), leaving their luxurious lifestyles in king size mansions and palaces across various towns of Nagaland. Therefore, bring them to the mainstream and leap beyond dilemma.
Security and Right to Life of subjects should be the fore of any government and if our government cannot protect from criminals, they should rely on alternative approach and neutralize them for the safety sake of the masses. Nagaland Government has no moral right to speak for outlwed, factions and criminals instead, work for the progress and development of our state and uplift lives. God Bless My Nagaland
