Nagaland Government Teachers’ Association serves 7-day ultimatum on Department of School Education

DIMAPUR, FEB 18 (NPN):

Nagaland Government Teachers’ Association (NGTA)—erstwhile SSA & RMSA 2010 & 2013 Batches comprising 2293 members —has served a seven-day ultimatum on the department of school education to include their salary component in the state non-plan budget.
NGTA through its media cell informed that their services were formally mainstreamed into the state education cadre vide order No. DSE/SSA-RMSA/COM/18-86/2021 dated September 2, 2022 with effect from April 21, 2022, pursuant to cabinet approval conveyed vide No. CAB-2/2013 dated April 21, 2022.
The association has, however, expressed regret that even after the lapse of more than three years, their salaries continued to be drawn under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) funding rather than under the appropriate state account head applicable on a par with other regular state cadre employees.
NGTA said they had earlier submitted a detailed representation on May 9, 2025, followed by a reminder dated July 31, 2025, requesting inclusion of their salary component in the state non-plan budget.
However, the association said the government remained inconsistent with the decision in principle.
The association has, therefore, strongly urged the school education department, through the ultimatum addressed to the principal director, to take immediate and time-bound action within seven days.
NGTA cautioned that if the matter remained unresolved within the stipulated period, they would be compelled to consider appropriate democratic and collective steps to seek amicable resolution.
