Nagaland governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, chief minister Neiphiu Rio and deputy CM Y. Patton have extended Naknyulüm greetings to the people of Nagaland and the Chang community in particular.
In his message, governor Mukhi said Naknyulüm is a religious ceremony to celebrate the deliverance from darkness, good over evil and love over hatred. On this occasion, the Changs share their produce and exchange gifts with one another.
He said the centuries old festival and its rituals signify and embody the deep seated philosophy of the community and its cultural values, not only among the people but also with the environment. On the occasion, governor wished all good health, peace and prosperity.
CM: In a tweet, chief minister Neiphiu Rio hoped that the festival, which celebrates the triumph of good over evil, bring blessings of good health, peace and foster goodwill among all sections of people.
Dy.CM: In his message, deputy chief minister Y. Patton said that since the festival is celebrated for deliverance from darkness, it signifies victory of the good over evil. Patton wished that the celebrations bring happiness and joy to all partaking in it.
On behalf of the state BJP legislators, Patton conveyed heartiest festive greetings and hope that it is celebrated with grandeur.
