Commending Kohima police for solving the murder case of a 22-year-old athlete Vihozhonu Zao, the state deputy chief minister and minister in-charge of home and border affairs, Y. Patton, has assured that the state government was committed to strengthening forensic and investigative infrastructure in the state so future cases could be handled with even greater efficiency.
According to media cell of deputy CM’s office, Patton lauded SIT led by additional superintendent of police K. Soriso Quinker for their dedicated work in solving the murder case.
The deputy chief minister acknowledged the efforts of the SIT, which he said worked with focus and coordination to uncover the truth behind what was initially a difficult and unclear case.
He said that their systematic investigation and professional approach led to the identification and arrest of the accused, bringing clarity to a matter that deeply affected the community.
Further, Patton expressed appreciation to SP Kohima Khrodi Rhetso and every officer involved in the investigation for upholding the principles of duty and integrity.
He acknowledged the importance of the team’s perseverance and the cooperation extended by the public that helped ensure process remained fair and transparent.
Patton has called upon the people to continue supporting law enforcement agencies through timely sharing of information and public vigilance.
Extending condolences to the bereaved family, the deputy chief minister reaffirmed that justice would take its course.
