Nagaland GPRN/NNC (AB) clarifies position

DIMAPUR

The GPRN/NNC (AB) collective leaders convened an emergency meeting on 29 November 2025 in Dimapur to address recent developments in regards to some cadres of NNC/FGN joining GPRN/NNC (AB).
During the meeting, the government reaffirmed that Francis Kikon has no association whatsoever with the GPRN/NNC (AB). It stated that the GPRN/NNC (AB), a People’s Government functioning smoothly under the leadership of president S.S. Pongkhu Naga and General Secretary V. Yepthomi, continues to uphold the spirit of non-violence and remains actively engaged with the NNPGs in pursuing the shared Naga political aspirations through peaceful dialogue and negotiations.
The MIP of the GPRN/NNC (AB) stated that it has come to the notice of the government that Francis Kikon has been misusing the name of the GPRN/NNC (AB) for personal gain, engaging in activities contrary to the organization’s principles, including attempts to deceive and draw cadres from various groups.
The Government reiterates that he was previously terminated from all association with the GPRN/NNC (AB), and therefore he holds no position, authority, or relevance within the organization.
The meeting further resolved that anyone wishing to join the GPRN/NNC (AB) must do so through the proper channel, with the knowledge and approval of the concerned authority not through individuals such as Francis Kikon, who holds no legitimacy within the organization, the MIP added.
The GPRN/NNC (AB) also strongly condemns the actions of Francis Kikon, adding that his unauthorized use of the Government’s name is unacceptable. The Government emphasized that a person who has already been dismissed cannot simply return and holds the authority, it is impossible, it stated. The GPRN/NNC (AB) also issued a final warning to him to immediately cease all interference and refrain from using the name of the GPRN/NNC (AB) in any manner. It also extends its sincere apology to the Naga public for any confusion or inconvenience caused by his actions, while assuring that appropriate measures will be taken should he continue his activities despite repeated warnings.
