GPRN/NSCN (Unification) on Wednesday alleged that N. Kitovi Zhimomi, after his expulsion on April 21, 2024, floated a new party with just a handful of habitual defectors and has since been making fabricated and concocted statements “with an intent to tarnish the reputation of the people’s government.”
GPRN/NSCN (U) through its MIP affirmed that it was “a mandated government of the Naga people.” With the active support and participation of Naga civil societies and Churches, the group said like-minded “national workers” from NSCN (I-M) and NSCN (K) came together in 2007 in response to the call and desire of the Naga people, which resulting in the formation of GPRN/NSCN also known as the unification government.
GPRN/NSCN (U) said it believes in and encourages extensive discussions with all the members prior to making any decisions on any matter.
Therefore, GPRN/NSCN (U) said Kitovi’s “hypotheses” that Unification government was led by five from the Army Wing and eight from the Civil Wing was “a figment of imagination of his deranged mind.”
According to MIP, only Kilonser Honizhe Chishi, out of 170 members who purportedly joined Kitovi-led GPRN/NSCN, was from Unification Government, who defected some 45 days prior.
It claimed that the “remaining individuals were publics who were directly promoted to the post of Kilonsers and Tatars after being enticed, lured and seduced by high positions and ranks.”
GPRN/NSCN (U) maintained that Kitovi “as a discredited leader” no longer has its respect. Therefore, GPRN/NSCN (U) advised him to refrain from “interfering with the operations of the people’s government.”
The group said that instead of mocking the popular government, Kitovi should focus more on his “precarious government”, which it claimed could fall apart at any moment.
“If it does survive, Kitovi needs to learn from his previous mistakes that Leadership is not about advancing yourself but it is about advancing your people,” GPRN/NSCN (U) remarked.
