The Government Primary School (GPS), RD Block North Kikruma, celebrated its 50th Golden Jubilee marking five decades of educational service since 1975, alongside the 35th General Session of the North Kikruma Students’ Union.
The event, themed “Retrospect: Reignite, Focus” unfolded at the GPS Ground and drew community leaders, students, and residents to honour the school’s legacy in North Kikruma village, Phek district.
Guest speaker MLA, Govt. of Nagaland Dr. Neisatuo Mero, emphasized the importance of staying connected to one’s roots and urged the gathering to “be rooted in the village, respect your home and village, and be deeply rooted in your identity, tradition, and culture.”
He highlighted how these foundations foster resilience and community pride in Nagaland’s hill villages, while encouraging students to cultivate a competitive spirit, strive to excel honoring heritage, and combine faith with hard work to sustain institutions like GPS for generations to come.
The celebration featured cultural performances, retrospectives on the school’s journey, and discussions on reigniting educational fervor under the Students’ Union’s session. Organizers commended the collaborative spirit of North Kikruma village leaders and residents for their unwavering support.
