Nagaland-based guitarist and composer Arenlong has officially joined Swedish guitar manufacturer Strandberg Guitars as an endorsed artist, marking a major milestone in his musical career and bringing his long association with the brand full circle.
Arenlong first came to the attention of Strandberg in 2020 after winning the Strandberg Guitar Contest in India. Six years later, that achievement has culminated in an official endorsement deal, placing him among a select roster of internationally recognised artists associated with the brand.
Founded in 2012 by Swedish luthier Ola Strandberg, Strandberg Guitars is renowned for its ergonomic, headless guitar designs and is widely used by progressive and fusion musicians, including acclaimed artists such as Plini and Jordan Rudess. Arenlong’s inclusion in the artist roster positions him alongside a global community of guitarists known for technical innovation and musical creativity.
Known for blending progressive rock and metal with intricate melodic guitar work, Arenlong has established himself as both a guitarist and composer. His debut EP, Willow (2022), showcases his signature style developed through years of exploring diverse musical influences.
His achievements include winning the Boss Guitar Maestro Contest in 2015, the National Guitar Solo Contest in 2014, and being named Best Guitarist at the Hornbill International Rock Contest in 2013. In 2020, he also emerged as a winner in an international online guitar competition hosted by renowned UK guitarist Jack Gardiner.
Apart from his solo work, Arenlong is featured on the NAMMA Music Artist Roster, where he collaborated with musicians Abhay Nayampally, J-Rod Sullivan and producer Sandeep Chowta on the EP Treekam.
Arenlong acknowledged the role of India’s growing boutique music gear industry in making the endorsement possible. Mumbai-based retailer The Stockist, which distributes premium brands including Strandberg, Taylor, Suhr and Mayones, has supported Indian musicians by improving access to high-end instruments and fostering artist partnerships.
In addition to Strandberg Guitars, Arenlong also endorses Hotone Audio and SIT Strings, completing a professional gear setup that he uses for both live performances and studio recordings.
With the Strandberg endorsement now official, Arenlong is set to embark on a new phase of his career, with fresh music and performances expected in the coming months.
