Nagaland: Guru Limayanger Jamir Tatar felicitated

DIMAPUR

The felicitation programme for the newly conferred, Guru Limayanger Jamir Tatar, was conducted on Monday at his residence.
Addressing the gathering, Guru Limayanger Jamir Tatar, stated that he had always been interested in the rich cultural heritage of the Ao Nagas and was inspired and tutored by the Guru Sangyusang Pongen and Guru Senlila, since he was 8 years old.
He stated that his opportunity to serve as cultural secretary of the Evergreen Club was made possible by their faith in him, along with the support of Nagawadir and Watemdong Cultural Club formed to preserve culture.
He noted that the laurel was achieved through the active support of the youth of Ungma village and his council members in preserving tradition. He also acknowledged the support of the Department of Art & Culture and the NLA Speaker.
A special prayer for the honoree was said by UBA Pastor, Rev T Wati Longkumer and invocation by UBA Deacon, Sungjemliba Pongen.
The function was chaired by Imlitemjen T Longkumer and brief speeches of felicitation were delivered by Guru Sangyusang Pongen, Lipokzulu Longkumer Tatar, Imkum Pongen Tatar and Imtidongba Jamir Tatar.
