Nagaland: Health awareness programme held at Tütheze village

DIMAPUR

A health awareness programme focusing on youth and adolescent well-being was conducted at Tütheze Village under Longmatra Block on January 14. The programme was organised by Nature SBI Foundation, Kiphire, Nagaland.
A total of 77 beneficiaries were registered during the event, while 12 participants availed free laboratory tests provided by the visiting medical team. The programme centred on the theme “Youth and Adolescence Health – Substance Abuse, Addiction and Mental Health.”
In his address, medical officer, Nature SBI Foundation, Kiphire, elaborate on the causes and effects of substance abuse, the dangers of addiction, and the growing mental health challenges faced by rural communities. The officer emphasised discipline, early awareness, and timely support as essential measures for prevention.
In addition, the health camp provided basic health check-ups, medical consultations, and counselling services for participants seeking guidance on personal and family health issues.
Village representatives expressed appreciation to Nature SBI Foundation for organising the programme and affirmed their support for similar initiatives aimed at empowering youth and safeguarding families.
Earlier, the session was led and facilitated by project lead, Nagaland Longtili C Sangtam, who guided the proceedings, encouraged active participation, and underscored the importance of protecting the health and future of young people.
The programme concluded with group discussions, interactive question-and-answer sessions with young participants, and a collective community pledge to remain vigilant, informed, and united in combating substance abuse and addiction.
