State health and family welfare (H&FW) minister P Paiwang Konyak’s mother, Among Konyak, passed away at her native village, Shangsa, Tizit on Thursday.
It may be mentioned that minister Paiwang lost his father Langto Angh, the Angh of Sangsa village, on September 25, 2025.
State chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio led others in mourning the passing of late Among Konyak.
In a condolence message to minister Paiwang, the chief minister described her as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who was deeply rooted in her reverence for the Lord, adding that her faith in God was the guiding light for her and her family. Dr. Rio said that losing both parents within such a short span was a sorrow beyond words.
“In the midst of the profoundly difficult phase, you and your siblings have shown remarkable strength, standing together with love, care, and compassion as you tended to your parents during their final days,” he said. The chief minister also said that their devotion in these difficult times was a testament to the values and enduring love their parents instilled in them all.
Dr. Rio conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members in this hour of grief and prayed that God Almighty give them strength and solace to bear the irreparable loss.
State deputy chief minister, Y. Patton, also expressed deep sadness over the passing of Among Konyak and said that loss of a mother was one of the greatest sorrows in life, as her love, care, and guidance shape the foundation of every family
In his condolence message, Patton conveyed solidarity with Paiwang Konyak and the bereaved family in prayer and sympathy during this time of grief.
He prayed that the Almighty grant them strength, peace, and comfort in this difficult time, and that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
NPF: The Naga People’s Front (NPF), in a condolence message by its press bureau, has stated that it is deeply saddened by the demise of Among Konyak, mother of Paiwang Konyak, minister for health and family welfare on November 6. The message stated that the rank and file of the NPF stands in solidarity with the minister and his family, sharing their grief and sorrow. The message further prayed for the bereaved family to find strength and for the departed soul to rest in peace.

Ayemi, in a condolence message to minister Paiwang, stated that his mother’s life and legacy would be remembered for the values she imparted and the love she shared with those around her.
“A mother’s love and guidance are irreplaceable, and I can only imagine the pain of your loss,” Ayemi said, adding that his thoughts and prayers with bereaved family members during this difficult time.
