Icaisuile, a fish farmer from Peren district, was felicitated as a Progressive Fish Farmer during the Fish Farmers’ Conclave held on November 11 as part of the World Aquaculture India 2025 (WAI 2025) celebrations in Hyderabad.
According to DIPR, the recognition was conferred by the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), under the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India. Icaisuile was honoured for her outstanding contribution to the fisheries sector and her role in promoting community development through sustainable fish farming practices. The two-day WAI 2025 event, held from November 11 to 12, celebrated innovations and achievements in India’s fisheries sector under the broader vision of economic empowerment and sustainable development.
