Advisor for IPR and Soil & Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen, undertook a tour of Chungtia, Sabangya and Aliba villages on Wednesday to interact with council members, BJP units and assessed developmental prospects in the region.
During his interaction, Imchen expressed gratitude to the people of Koridang Constituency for their continued trust, having elected him for five consecutive terms. He reiterated that his commitment to serve was not a mere whim but a sincere decision rooted in public service. Addressing concerns on political identity, Imchen clarified that while a majority of people from a particular religion may support a political party, the party itself is not owned by any religion. He urged the public not to be wary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), emphasizing the distinction between religion and political affiliation.
Responding to a request from the Chungtia Village Council, Imchen informed that road upgradation under the ‘Other Roads Plan’ was set to commence, with all necessary equipment and materials in place under the supervision of Executive Engineer (R&B) Mokokchung, Er. Toshikaba. He acknowledged the support of chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio in facilitating the project.
At Aliba village, Imchen assured council members that the proposed rest house and multi-purpose building would be taken up in a phased manner in the near future.
