According to a press release, the inaugural programme was graced by SDO (Civil) Seithekema Seyiekhrietuo Solo as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, Solo emphasized the importance of being a good human being and stated that strong values must guide both personal and professional life.
He urged students to go beyond textbook learning by acquiring practical skills, adaptability, and a habit of continuous self-education to keep pace with a rapidly changing world.
Highlighting kindness and civic sense as essential qualities, Solo remarked that good deeds may often go unnoticed but create a lasting ripple effect in society.
He pointed out that some of the major challenges faced by the administration today include a lack of good leadership, educated individuals, compassion, and civic responsibility. Describing students as the leaders of tomorrow, he underscored the need for responsible, educated, and ethical leadership, challenging students to prepare themselves with integrity, competence, and a strong sense of responsibility.
He also encouraged the students to give their best at what they do and ensure better tomorrow.
Highlighting the influence of peer groups, he advised students to choose a good circle of friends, noting that one’s company plays a crucial role in shaping character, discipline, and life choices.
One of the highlights of the first day was the crowning of Miss and Mr Myriad. After three competitive rounds, Miss Lino T Aye and Mr Idohingbo Haining were crowned Miss and Mr Myriad respectively.
