Nagaland: India Skills competition 2025 held in Kohima

DIMAPUR

The inaugural programme of India Skills 2025 organised by the Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Nagaland under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship was held at the Directorate of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Kohima on December 6.
Indian skills is a biennial national level competition for young people to showcase vocational skills. This year, the competition is held for three categories namely graphic design, fashion design technology and restaurant service.
Joint secretary, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Phuleshe K Yepthomi declared the competition open in presence of the director DoESD&E, Savio Visa & other officials.
He also distributed the uniform and I.D card to all the participants. He encouraged them to part take in competitions even in the coming days and also urged them to compete with the national level competitions.
Joint director DESDE, Er. H. Alongse, in his opening remarks appreciated the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship for funding the competition to discovery the youth skills and talents.
State officer NSDC Skill India, Parvin Yadav encouraged the participants to make the best use of the opportunity provided by the government.
Senior lecture, Fashion Technology Department, A. Chubamenla said that fashion industry technology being one of the largest employer in the world has vast scope for providing employment therefore called upon the youth to upgrade their skills by learning any design & exact size using Artificial Intelligent (AI) .
Assistant program officer, Menguzelie who chaired the programme, acknowledged the Ministry for giving a support to state government to host such an program. He said that State is organizing the second edition of the programme after a gap of 7 years.
The trades were host by the Fashion Technology Institute, Government Polytechnic Kohima, GITI kohima ,Graphic design technology NEILET, Kohima and, State institute of Hotel Management.
Various districts Industry Training Institutes (ITIs), Polytechnic Institute and SIMS, Dimapur are participating in the competition. All together 147 participants took part and 26 participants reached in the final competition.
