Nagaland Inter-school futsal tournament 2025 concludes at Hope Academy

Hope Academy hosted its inaugural Inter-School Futsal Tournament 2025 on November 6 and 7 at the Hope Academy Futsal Ground, drawing spirited participation from eight prominent schools across Dimapur. The two-day after-school event showcased a vibrant blend of sportsmanship, teamwork and youthful talent.
The tournament featured eight teams divided into two pools. Pool A comprised Maple Tree School, Shalom Public School, Hollotoli School and St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School Dimapur. Pool B included Hope Academy (A), Livingstone Foundation International, Beanstalk School Dimapur, and Hope Academy (B).
The opening match between Maple Tree School and Shalom Public School set the tone for a series of competitive group-stage fixtures on Day 1. The excitement continued on Day 2 with the semi-finals and finals, culminating in a thrilling championship round. St. Mary’s higher secondary school claimed the championship title, while Hollotoli School finished as runners-up.
During the inauguration ceremony, Hope Academy Principal Sashizungla Ao emphasized the importance of balancing academics with physical activities. “We need to balance studies and sports together. Activities like these are essential for a child’s overall growth and development. Hope Academy aims to provide a great platform for upcoming sportsmen and nurture their potential,” she stated.
Individual excellence was also recognized with special awards:
Golden Boot: Nungmeren Imsong (9 goals), St. Mary’s Hr. Sec. School – Top Scorer
Golden Gloves: Hahao Chongloi, St. Mary’s Hr. Sec. School – Best Goalkeeper
Golden Ball: Jisie Nyuthe, Hollotoli School – Best Player
The atmosphere at Hope Academy was charged with enthusiasm as students and teachers celebrated the spirit of sports through cheers, camaraderie, and shared moments of joy.
The tournament not only provided a competitive platform for young athletes but also reinforced the role of sports in holistic education.
