Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, handed over critical medical equipment to public health facilities in Nagaland and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) for a women-focused skilling project in the textile and handloom sector.
Under the CSR project titled “Critical Gap Equipment Filling”, IOCL provided essential medical equipment to Tseminyu Community Health Centre (CHC), Shamator District Hospital and Zunheboto District Hospital. The asset handing-over ceremony was held at the IDAN office, aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure by addressing key equipment gaps in public health institutions, thereby enhancing accessibility and quality of healthcare services, particularly in remote and underserved areas of the State.
The programme was attended by representatives from Tseminyu CHC and Shamator District Hospital, officials from the department of Health & Family Welfare, and officers of IDAN, reflecting strong inter-departmental coordination and community participation in the effective implementation of CSR initiatives.
During the event, IOCL also committed to extend its CSR re-investment to other selected underserved districts in Nagaland during FY 2025–26, reinforcing the Corporation’s sustained support for inclusive development in the State.
On the same occasion, IOCL and IDAN signed an MoU for the implementation of a CSR project to provide textile and handloom equipment at Tsithrongse, Murise and Urra villages, with a specific focus on women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The project seeks to enhance skills, improve productivity and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for women artisans through access to improved tools and equipment.
Representatives of IOCL reiterated the Corporation’s commitment to inclusive, need-based and impact-driven CSR interventions in healthcare and livelihood promotion. IDAN highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships with leading public sector enterprises in achieving sustainable development and advancing women’s economic empowerment in Nagaland.
The initiatives are expected to significantly strengthen public healthcare delivery in the beneficiary districts while empowering women-led SHGs through enhanced production capacity, improved quality standards and better market linkages, contributing to inclusive and sustainable development in the State.
