Nagaland: Jacob graces Nitozü & Baptist Church jubilee

DIMAPUR

Minister of PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, graced the two-day golden jubilee celebrations of Nitozü Village and Baptist Church under Aghunaqa Circle, Niuland district, on Friday. The jubilee was held under the theme “Liberty through Christ”.
In his address, the minister paid tribute to the pioneers led by the village founder, late Nitozü, and reminded the gathering that Niuland district, spread across 514 sq. km, was the fruit of the sacrifices of erstwhile leaders who laboured with “blood, sweat and tears.” He urged the people to always remember their roots.
Jacob stressed that a Golden Jubilee should not be seen merely as a celebration but as an occasion to reflect on development, employment and self-reliance. He informed that efforts are underway to establish an EAC outpost in Aghunaqa and revealed that three police outposts have already been approved by the government.
Acknowledging challenges faced by the Aghunaqa area due to its proximity to the Assam border and the Disputed Area Belt, the minister assured that no stone would be left unturned to bring about tangible development and lasting solutions.
He also called upon the youth to rise to the realities of today’s competitive world, cautioning that there is no shortcut to success and hard work remains the only path forward.
On the occasion, Jacob unveiled the golden jubilee monolith. He was accompanied by DC Niuland, DCP Niuland, EAC Aghunaqa, Western Sümi Kükami Hoho, Western Sümi frontal organisations and WSBAK executive secretary Rev. Dr. Phughoto Sema, who offered the monolith inauguration prayer.
