Nagaland: Japanese Troupe Drum Tao performs at KSCJ

The acclaimed Japanese musical troupe Drum Tao returned to Kohima Science College, Jotsoma (KSCJ) on December 4, marking their second performance at the institution following their debut during last year’s annual Winfest.
Ahead of their show, the group held a brief meet-and-greet session outside the college campus, where students had the opportunity to interact with the internationally renowned performers. The 15-minute interaction featured a series of engaging questions from the students, who were eager to learn more about the artists and their journey.
When asked about their dream performance destinations, members of Drum Tao expressed heartfelt appreciation for Kohima, saying they genuinely enjoy performing in the city. Responding to another query about what brought them to KSCJ, the group shared that they had been invited by the institute and were delighted to return.
Drum Tao’s highly anticipated performance commenced in the early evening, immediately captivating the audience with their commanding stage presence. Opening with their signature Taiko drums, the ensemble delivered a powerful display as reverberating rhythms filled the hall, blending into a resonant tapestry of sound.
Following the electrifying performance, the Angami Students’ Union of KSCJ presented a melodious folk song, offering a soothing interlude.
The Zeliang Students’ Union then delivered a vibrant folk dance, before the Chakesang Students’ Union concluded the evening with an authentic presentation of Tati La, bringing the event to a culturally rich close.
