Nagaland: JCPBED 7-day deadline to shut liquor dens

Three days after taking a public rally in support of NLTP Act, 1989 and against all illegal activities within Purana Bazar jurisdiction, Joint Council of Purana Bazar East Dimapur (JCPBED) has served ultimatum on shops running liquor business to close down within seven days. House owners were also issued notice to prohibit sale of alcohol and other illegal items by tenants.
JCPBED convenor Vikugha Kappo warned that failure to close down such businesses within the timeline would force them to take necessary actions as per September 3, 2022 resolution.
It also warned of action against outsiders dealing with any illegal activities within the jurisdiction of Purana Bazar.
