Nagaland Joint Christian Forum extends Resurrection Sunday greetings

Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) has extended Resurrection Sunday greetings to all the churches and believers in Nagaland.
In the press release, NJCF president Rev. Dr. N. Paphino and secretary Rev. Moses Murry, quoted Romans 6:9 “For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him” and reminded believers that Jesus rose from the dead and overcame the powers of darkness.
NJCF urged the Christians to exhibit that same power in everyday lives and be a witness to the power of the resurrection.
The forum recalled the Great Commission given by Lord Jesus: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go into all the world… and preach the gospel… whoever believes shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
Further, NJCF emphasised that the Gospel is not only about personal salvation but also about how believers conduct themselves as daily life — practicing faith in daily living, loving neighbours and doing good to others.
“As we celebrate Resurrection Sunday, may we move from our personal construction of being Christian to a truly biblical Christianity,” the NJCF stated.
The forum appealed to all Nagas to actively practise love and work towards building a society rooted in peace and justice.
The forum also urged communities currently at loggerheads, exchanging words of hatred and self-justification, to instead build bridges and create avenues for dialogue and negotiation.
“This Resurrection Sunday reminds us that we cannot do it on our own. For too long, we have taken matters into our own hands, relying on our own wisdom,” the NJCF said.
The forum observed that reconciliation has often been reduced to mere business transactions rather than genuine restoration. It said that true peace and reconciliation come only from knowing and doing God’s will.
NJCF further appealed to believers to be “reconciled to Him” through the sacrifice of Christ, acknowledging their brokenness, seeking forgiveness from God and from one another, and becoming a truly forgiving community rather than merely professing Christians.
The forum called upon the believers to humble themselves in true worship as their celebration of Christmas culminates with Resurrection on this day, bringing them hope for eternity future.
Forum concluded by blessing all in the name of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and praying for peace in the world and within Naga communities.
