Nagaland: Kezonuo Clan holds social gathering at Thenyizu

DIMAPUR

The Thenyizumi Kezonuomi Thenu Kehou programme was held at the local ground in Thenyizu village, Phek district, on Tuesday with Zhothisa Dawhuo, Commissioner & Secretary for Women Resources Development, gracing the occasion as guest speaker.
Addressing the gathering, Dawhuo urged clan members to strengthen coordination and cultivate affection towards one another to progress as a community. He said love was the foundation of peaceful coexistence and development, cautioning that without love and affection, conflicts and divisions were inevitable.
He stressed that genuine affection enables individuals to resist anger, nurture positive attitudes and transform negativity into constructive action. Calling for love and affection to be a shared commitment, Dawhuo said true unity could only be achieved when people consciously choose to care for and support one another.
The guest speaker further encouraged members to grow together in love, help one another and work collectively for the overall development of the clan. He also highlighted the importance of good character and habits, stating that the clan’s reputation should be reflected wherever its members go.
On education, Dawhuo advised students to give their best in studies, reminding them of the sacrifices made by parents. He cautioned against laziness and urged youth to complete their education so that parents could take pride in their achievements.
Pointing out the lack of entrepreneurs in the village, Dawhuo encouraged the youth to think beyond salaried employment. With the national highway now passing through the village, he said new opportunities were visible but stressed the need to acquire business skills and make use of available avenues.
The programme was chaired by Besuhu Dawhuo, with invocation pronounced by C. Kroso Kezo, pastor of TBC. Remarks on behalf of the Kezonuo clan were delivered by Nechuyi Dawhuo, followed by a brief history presented by Cusazo Dawhuo. Senior citizens and achievers were also recognised during the event.
Entrepreneur Kropayi Dawhuo delivered a short speech, while the treasurer’s report was presented by Puthiyi Kezo. Zhothiyi Dawhuo, former Thenyizu VCC, was elected as Kezonuo clan chairman for the 2026–2030 tenure.
