Nagaland: KNK, TYOD condemn January 19 incident

DIMAPUR

Kulolau Nunumi Kuqhakulu (KNK) and Tenyimi Youth Organisation Dimapur (TYOD) have strongly condemned the recent assault and abduction of a businessman, Kiyeto Zhimomi, on January 19, by cadres of NSCN-K (Khango-Vusshe) group.
KNK: Kulolau Nunumi Kuqhakulu (KNK) has strongly and unequivocally condemned the alleged assault, abduction and brutal injury of its bona fide member, Kiyeto Zhimomi, Head GB of Vikuho village, allegedly by cadres of NSCN (Khango-Hokato) faction.
In a press release, Kulolau Nunumi Kuqhakulu president Ihoto Chishi and general secretary Kavi Swu described the act as cowardly and barbaric, terming it a grave violation of fundamental human rights and an outright attack on peace, safety, dignity and the rule of law.
It said the deliberate targeting of its member, allegedly for ransom, resulting in physical harm and trauma, was deeply disturbing and completely unacceptable in a civilised society.
Kulolau Nunumi Kuqhakulu demanded an immediate and impartial investigation by the concerned authorities to ensure that all those responsible are identified, apprehended and brought to justice at the earliest. It also expressed full solidarity with the victim and his family members and wished him a speedy recovery.
TYOD: In press release, TYOD stated that such acts of violence, intimidation, and unlawful coercion are unacceptable and pose serious threat to public safety, economic activity, and the rule of law.
Targeting members of business community not only endangers individual lives but also undermines trust, peace, and development in society.
Tenyimi Youth Organisation Dimapur also urged concerned authorities to conduct thorough investigation and ensure that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice at the earliest.
Tenyimi Youth Organisation Dimapur further expressed solidarity with the victim and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting safe, lawful, and secure environment for all citizens.
