Kohima Lotha Hoho (KLH) at its general meeting held on October 4 has called for unity and the need to preserve the cultural and traditional values. Attended by key leaders, the meeting also discussed for the future of the Lotha community and the Nagas in general.
Achumbemo Kikon, who graced the meeting, emphasized on the need to preserve culture and tradition through active use of mother tongue. He also underscored that true progress begins with safeguarding cultural identity and called upon the Lotha community to remain united and work collectively for the upliftment of the Naga society as a whole.
Kikon also stressed the need for reform, starting with the electoral system, pointing out that a more transparent and just election process was essential for the growth of the society.
Exhorting the gathering, secretary for Youth Resources & Sports, Anthony Ngullie urged the community to reflect on their roles in society, as their actions of today will shape the values and aspirations of younger generations.
The meeting commenced with a welcome address by KLH chairman, K N Mhonthung Lotha. A special prayer was offered by Rev Dr K Benry Lotha for the successful candidates of the recent NPSC and NSSB exams.
The general secretary’s report was presented by S. Chonbemo Lotha, audit committee report by convenor, Khyochamo Tungoe and treasurer’s report by L .Yanremo Mozhui
The session concluded with a closing prayer by Khonbemo Ngullie.
