A five-day training for Krishis Sakhis Community Resource Person (CRPs) under National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF) was conducted from January 27 to 31, in Phek.
The training aimed to promote sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural practices among farmers by adding organic and bio- inputs.
According to a press release, the programmes was organised by ICAR –KVK Phek in collaboration with district agriculture office Phek, district agriculture office Kohima and sub-division agriculture office Pfutsero.
A total of 22CRPs participated in the programme.
During the programme, experts and resource person highlighted importance and principles of natural farming, preparation of various formulations related natural farming, soil health management ,demonstration on preparation and application of bio-inoculants , bio- insecticides and other sustainable farming practices. An interactive session and visiting of ICAR-KVK Phek Farm was also held.
Resource person of the training were senior scientist and head, ICAR-KVK Phek Dr Sanjeev Kumar Sign, chief technical officere (Soil Science) Dr T.Esther Longkumer, chief technical officer (Agronomy) Dr Hanah K.Asangla, and Manjunath K.S. SMS (Horticulture). The programme concluded with a valedictory session.
