Nagaland: Kuda Cold Storage reopens

Dimapur

Kuda Cold Storage has officially re-opened its facility at 5th Mile, Model Village, Dimapur, on January 6, 2026, restoring critical cold chain capacity for the region.
The seal on the facility was removed by NEDFI officials in the presence of ADC Chumoukedima, DCP Chumoukedima, president of Western Chakhesang Hoho, Western Thetsumi Welfare Union representatives and well-wishers. The cold storage had been sealed in 2019 by NEDFI, but the court later ruled in favour of Kuda Cold Storage, citing Article 371A, Section 12 of the Constitution of India.
Welcoming the development, Yetsülhi Ngatsi, president of Western Chakhesang Hoho, said the reopening was “good news for farmers, retailers, and consumers alike,” noting that the facility plays a central role in ensuring fresh and frozen products reach markets through a stronger and more resilient supply chain. The Western Thetsumi Welfare Union, while condemning the earlier sealing of the facility, appealed to the authorities to extend support for renovation and repairs.
Kuda Cold Storage is a leading cold chain service provider specialising in refrigerated and frozen storage, handling, and distribution for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.
