KVK Peren, ICAR-RC for NEH Nagaland centre organised Rabi campaign and seed distribution programme in collaboration with Indian Institute Horticulture Research, Bengaluru on September 20 at Songhluh village, Athibung Block.
The programme was organised to make awareness cum importance of rabi seasons, water conservation and efficient use for rabi season for vegetable cultivation for income generation and increasing cropping intensity.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by SMS, PBG Dr. Patu K. Zeliang. SMS Soil Science Z. James Kikon gave a brief explanation on Soil health management and SMS Land and Water management engineering Amit Kumar highlighted the importance of water conservation and its importance for rabi cropping season while Dr. Patu K. Zeliang gave overview of vegetable cultivation practices of the eight different types of vegetables inside the seed kit. Altogether 70 farmers participated in the programme along with the official staffs of KVK. Vegetable seed kit of IIHR, Bengaluru was distributed to all the farmers participants.
