Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS), Nagaland, has launched Phase V of the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccination program at Lerie Farm, Kohima.
The drive, which runs from March 21 to May 21, 2025, aims to immunize 68,050 cattle and other susceptible animals against FMD, a highly contagious disease that poses a major threat to livestock.
AH&VS Director urged farmers to cooperate and get their animals vaccinated to prevent disease outbreaks. The vaccination is free of cost, and livestock owners are advised to bring their animals to designated vaccination centers or contact the nearest Veterinary institutes or the Director, AH&VS.
