Nagaland Lotha Academy holds meeting

DIMAPUR

The board of directors of the Lotha Academy (LA) held a meeting on November 1 at the Mt. Tiyi College conference hall in Wokha.
The meeting was presided by Fr. Abraham Lotha, Ph.D, president of the Lotha Academy.
A press release by LA vice president, Dr. N. Janbemo Humtsoe, stated that during the meeting, MLA Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe, released a book titled “Lotha Naga Poetry of the Forefathers,” edited by Fr. Abraham Lotha and Nyanthung Stephen.
The book contains 34 poems which was contributed by elders of Longsa village.
During the meeting, Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe also made a power point presentation of Lotha script and numerical, originally developed by Late Nzio Humtsoe of Sanis village.
Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe urged the Lotha Academy to form a committee to undertake a comprehensive study of the Lotha script, examine its structure and usage, and explore ways to refine, standardize, and promote it for educational and cultural preservation purposes.
