The golden jubilee of Lotha Hoho, Medziphema Town, celebrating 50 glorious years of its formation which coincided with Tokhü Emong was celebrated at Multipurpose Hall, Nagaland University: SAS, in Medziphema town.
The Jubilee celebration was graced by deputy chief minister, Y. Patton, as the special guest, while Zhaleo Rio (Retd), advisor for urban development and municipal affairs, was the guest of honor for the day.
Zhaleo Rio, in his address, extended jubilee and Tokhü Emong greetings to the Lotha community of Medziphema Town. Expressing his gratitude to the Lotha people for placing their support and confidence in him always, the Advisor especially thanked Deputy CM Y. Patton for his valuable contribution in bringing about unity and cooperation among them.
Reminding the gathering that wrong decisions by leaders lead people astray and right decisions by good leaders brings about unity, peace and development, Zhaleo expressed his utmost high regard for the leadership of Patton. He also urged the Nagas not to remain confined within the barriers of ‘isms’ but overcome it and be united to achieve desired goals and aspirations.
Deputy chief minister Y. Patton who delivered jubilee greetings to the Lotha community of Medziphema Town, congratulated them on achieving the significant milestone of 50 glorious years.
Patton also asked Lotha Hoho Medziphema Town members to forgive and forget each other in the name of Jubilee and Tokhü Emong and stressed on the need to speak the mother tongue and reminded that mother tongue should always be first and other dialects later.
He also reminded that the Lotha people and the Naga people in general, that his gates are always open and welcome to the people in need of him.
Reiterating his trust in the PDA Government, Patton placed his confidence in the leadership of chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and reassured the Naga people that there is no dispute for leadership in the PDA Government.
The celebration kickstarted with an invocation prayer by S. Patton and as a tribute, a minute of silent prayer for the departed members. The welcome address was delivered by Pichamo Humtsoe, chairman Lotha Hoho, Medziphema Town which was followed by the theme speaker and first Chairman of Lotha Hoho,Medziphema Town, C. Mozhui.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks from E Lireni Kikon, asst. gen secy of Lotha Hoho, Medziphema Town.
