DIMAPUR

In line with the directive issued by the Home Department, Wokha and Peren districts will conduct mass social work as part of festive season preparations to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and beautification of public spaces.
In Wokha, the district administration has informed that the mass social work will be held on November 12, 2025, starting from 7 am. The initiative will involve collective participation from government employees and the general public across towns and villages.
Key activities include removal of building materials and roadside waste, repainting and upkeep of shop premises, disposal of plastic and non-biodegradable waste at designated points, and clearing of vegetation along National, State, and District highways. Schools and colleges have been encouraged to organize special cleanliness drives within their campuses, except for institutions conducting examinations.
All District Heads of Departments have been directed to ensure active staff participation and monitor Sub-Divisional Offices. Area Administrative Officers, Executive Officers, and Village Council Chairmen will supervise activities within their jurisdictions. Monitoring and reporting will be carried out through photographic documentation submitted to respective authorities and uploaded to the Wokha Government Servants WhatsApp Group.
Meanwhile, in Peren district, Deputy Commissioner Hiazu Meru has announced that mass social work will be conducted on November 17, 2025 from 7 am onwards.
