Mar Gregorios Orthodox Syrian (MGOS) Church, Dimapur will celebrate its annual feast 2025 on November 1 and 2 with a series of liturgical and devotional events. Former vicar of the parish, Rev. Fr. D. Alexander, will grace the occasion as chief celebrant.
The festivity will commence on November 1 with evening prayer followed by a solemn procession. On November 2, morning prayer will begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the Holy Mass (Quarbana) and a concluding procession.
Established in 1981, the church was consecrated in memory of Mar Gregorios of Malankara (Kerala), the first canonized saint of the Orthodox churches in India. The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, to which the parish belongs, traces its apostolic origin to St. Thomas, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ, who is believed to have founded the Church in India in A.D. 52.
