Nagaland MLSU celebrates golden jubilee

The Mokokchung Lotha Students’ Union(MLSU) celebrated it’s golden jubilee under the theme: ‘Golden Past, Intelligent Future’, Friday at the Town Hall, with transport commissioner, Elias T Lotha as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Elias T Lotha stated being a student organization, the union should play a proactive role to interact with the societies around, adding that it was also very important to assess the organisations’ mistakes and strength and to further their strength through knowledge with proper focus.
Elias stated that knowledge is gold if one can harnessed it genuinely unlike the literal aspect of text. He opined that one should possess the zest to learn theoretical knowledge, to amplify in real life situations, so that society can grow with their contribution.
With the acquired knowledge, Lotha stated that one should be willing to share it and be the voice for the voiceless/down trodden, irrespective of caste, greed, sex, clan, range, tribe, etc.
“With that such pure knowledge, will usher in, true peace, unity and tranquility to our land, he said. Then, we would be creating, a new generation of young minds, to uplift the society, as whole,” he added.
Earlier, the guest speaker, principal DIET Tuensang, Peter Libenthung spoke on golden jubilee theme note: Golden Past, Intelligent Future’ and short speeches were delivered by C Nribemo, Yangthungo M Kikon, AKM president, Lanutoshi Aier and LSU president, Lirhonthung Kithan.
The introductory speech was delivered by planning committee convenor, Prof. T Zarenthung Kithan, welcome address by MLSU president, Y Khyobenthung Tsanglao and a special prayer for the students by LBEM Pastor, Rev. W Khonimo. Special songs were presented by the Lotha students of CTC and Lotha Unio of Mokokchung.
A minute of silence was observed for the departed souls of the MLSU.
The ‘Jubilee Chekaphen’ was unveiled and ‘Souvenir’, released by the Chief Guest, Elias T Lotha.
