Condemnation continues to pour in from various organisation on the incident that occurred on November 9 which led to the death of Mhathung Lotha on November 11.
DTE: Dimapur Tonphyaktsurui Ekhung (DTE) has strongly condemned the heinous crime committed by Bokugha, his wife Alung, and their associates, which resulted in the brutal death of Mhathung Lotha of Yimpang village and serious injuries to Chonben Kikon of Koio village.
In a press release, DTE described the act as inhuman, barbaric, and a grave disgrace to humanity and local value and request the law-enforcement agencies to ensure strict punishment under relevant section of laws and to deny bail to the accused. It also calls for an impartial and thorough investigation, condemning the coercion and extortion inflicted on the victims before the assault.
DTE expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Mhathung Lotha and offered prayers for the speedy recovery of Chonben Kikon. It also pledged support for the surviving spouse and child of the deceased, while urging the government to extend legal assistance and social aid.
DTE urged all the local leaders unions, and the wider community not to spread communal hatred but to stand united for justice and peace.
DONPE: The Dimapur Osi Nkonjan Patton Ekhung (DONPE) has condemned the “senseless murder” that resulted in the death of its bonafide member, Mhathung Lotha of Yimpang village, and caused serious injuries to his friend, Chonben Kikon of Koio village, on November 9 at Burma Camp, Naga Colony, Dimapur.
In a statement, DONPE strongly condemned the heinous crime, calling it unacceptable in today’s society. The organization urged authorities to swiftly apprehend all individuals responsible and take appropriate action under the relevant laws.
DNKE: The Dimapur Nkonchan Koio Ekhung (DNKE) expressed deep shock and grief over the tragic incident that occurred on November 9 at Naga Colony, Burma Camp, Dimapur, which resulted in the untimely death of Late Mhathung Lotha.
In a press release, DNKE stated that according to reports, Lotha was assaulted in a manner that showed a blatant disregard for human life and the rule of law. His death has been described as an irreparable loss to the Lotha community, with the organization vehemently condemning the brutal and inhuman act.
The DNKE also voiced concern over the severe physical injuries and mental trauma inflicted on Chonben Kikon, who is currently receiving urgent medical treatment. The organization condemned the violence and trauma experienced by the victims and their families, calling such actions completely unacceptable in a law-abiding society.
